Materials
Cozy Home Performance is committed to using the most effective materials in the building performance industry. Some materials are greener than others, meaning they could have lower embodied energy, are less toxic and, or, manufactured regionally. We only use materials when we are confident that the resulting energy saved or health related improvements offset a substantial amount of the embodied energy or harsh chemical components. One example of a green material is cellulose insulation. Cellulose has low embodied energy versus spray polyurethane foam and rigid foam board. These materials require large amounts of energy to produce and have various chemical components.
All materials are installed conscientiously and precisely so that maximum performance is achieved that allow for long term home comfort, energy savings and reduction of CO2 emissions. Cozy Home minimizes landfill waste by re-using effective insulation materials and recycling shipping materials and spent metal foam tanks.
