My company hired Cozy Home Performance(CHP) for two projects that required building diagnostic testing of multi-family residential properties. Each employee from CHP that worked on these projects maintained superior professional knowledge and superior professional conduct through out the entire scope of work and we would not hesitate to hire or recommend them in the future.

Specifically, CHP used their professional knowledge base to not only complete the required diagnostic testing but went above and beyond to educate the design and construction teams on the benefits of advanced air sealing for existing buildings and new construction projects. Throughout the projects CHP employees enlightened recognized leaders in the design, construction and building operations industry and
ultimately saved the project teams money.

My company received verbal testimonials praising CHP and their superior knowledge and professional conduct. I have outlined the projects in brief narratives below:

Water Mark Cambridge-LEED for Existing Buildings Certification: Cambridge MA
The 400 unit residential high rise was applying to be the first LEED certified existing building for operations & maintenance (LEED EB O+M) in Cambridge. The project scope was to provide blower door testing to determine the air leakage rate in each apartment unit according to ANSI/ASTM-779-03. The number of units to be tested was fifty-five (55).

Testing was completed by CHP while working around a restrictive schedule and working in occupied homes. CHP completed the scope of work in a timely fashion and was able to educate an owner who is considered at the forefront of sustainable, high performance building operations.

Metro Green Apartments-LEED for New Construction & Neighborhood Development Certification: Stamford, CT.

The project was a 50 unit, new construction affordable housing development in Stamford, CT. The project was attempting to achieve LEED gold certification for new construction (NC) as well as LEED gold certification for neighborhood development (ND).

The scope of work was to provide blower door testing for air leakage rate testing in accordance with ANSI/ASTM-779-03. This design element confirmation is a prerequisite to LEED certification of multiunit residential projects. CHP provided the entire scope of work in a timely fashion and was able to educate the construction team and owner and save them time, money, their certification as well as predicted on going energy costs. They have been requested on multiple future projects from the project team based on their knowledge and willingness to educate for the benefit of the project.

As the president of 4 Elements Group I am proud to recommend Cozy Home Performance Inc. and feel they have helped to further our business relationships in the high performance building design, construction and operations industry.

Sincerely,
Thomas Nichols, C.I.E., LEED AP O+M
